Wine Country Curling Club Welcomes 28 Curling Teams for Spring Event
Wine Country Curling Club (WCCC) is gearing up for their spring bonspiel, the Barrel, which will arrive on March 27-29 at Skatetown Ice Arena in Roseville. Placer Valley Tourism is thrilled to be teaming up with WCCC to welcome the 28 curling teams competing to Placer Valley.
“We’re excited to be back for the fourth Barrel Bonspiel as we love bringing curlers from all over California, the U.S. and Canada to curl with us at Skatetown,” stated WCCC President Katie Feldman. “Our club is known for hosting a fun event so we have many things planned from the polka music at the opening ceremonies to the Hot Shots contest all the way to our finals on Sunday!”
Feldman added that with three days packed full of curling action, this event is an excellent opportunity to come watch this unique sport live! Curling continues to gain mainstream popularity and is considered to be one of the fastest growing sports in the nation.
Games are scheduled to start at 7 a.m. on Friday, March 27 and the finals will wrap around 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 29. There is no fee for spectators and Skatetown offers concessions with many food and beverage options available for purchase. Mark your calendars and come enjoy the curling fun at 1009 Orlando Ave in Roseville.
